Come Out and Play

By Liz Ahearn | June 19, 2019

In developing the destination that has become Picnic Wine & Provisions, my aim all along has been to create a space for gathering community and inspiring adventure through wine, food and art. So, with curator Laura Mae Noble, I am so very pleased to open our first gallery show, “Color Play”, on Saturday, June 22. This is also my first free, open to the public event, as a preview of the Picnic space that you can experience.

Why name this exhibition “Color Play”? A few reasons: I am personally all about color, and it shows. Check out the vibrant cobalt blue and tangerine orange Picnic branding, the pops of color throughout the Picnic space, and the artwork itself: More than a dozen hugely colorful (and some actually huge) mixed media pieces by noted artist Nicholas Barron. Many are new works, never seen before, and Nick will be creating his newest piece on site “en plein” air, with an auction of that painting and…a musical performance.

Come out and play at Picnic! Enjoy “Color Play” both inside and on our garden terrace. Your welcome cocktail is on me, as you view both the art in the space and the space for art, as well as wine, food and great conversation.

When: Saturday, June 22, from 6PM to 9PM
Where: Picnic, 7301 Sheridan Road, Rogers Park, Chicago
