About the Book:

The Women is a 2024 historical fiction novel by Kristin Hannah about Frances “Frankie” McGrath, a sheltered nursing student who volunteers as an Army Nurse in Vietnam in 1965, following her brother to war. The book explores her experiences in a war zone, the deep friendships she forms, and the challenges she faces returning home to a divided country that often denies the service of women in the war. It’s a story of love, sacrifice, and resilience, honoring the often-forgotten contributions of women in the Vietnam War.
