Noah and Roger play in many of the same bands specializing in the jazz music of the 1920’s and 30’s. Banjo and tuba makes for a pretty unique duo, and our audiences always enjoy this unusual treat.

Noah Schroer, singer, banjo and mandolin, is a middle school music teacher in the Skokie public schools.  He was a member of the Hot Club of Berwyn, which has morphed into Badass Gumbo, a trad jazz band.  He is also in the Wild Rumpus Jazz Band, Midnight Stars Orchestra, and often plays in the No Class Combo.  He is an accomplished juggler and enjoys hammock camping.

Roger Menning, tuba and trombone, has been starting bands for over 20 years. He founded two 30-piece concert brass bands, which have won national and international awards. After retiring from a career in electrical engineering in 2015, he has gone nuts with new bands, plus playing in other groups. He started Wild Rumpus Jazz Band, Midnight Stars Orchestra, No Class Trio/Combo, Chicago Trombone Band, and Roger’s Happy Seven. He also is a member of the Trombonaires, Dixie Dogs, Badass Gumbo, Chicago Vintage Brass, and the Evanston Symphony Orchestra.
