We’re back with Picnic After Dark
Please join us for an early evening journey with three great songwriters and performers. Robert Willians, originally from Oklahoma, artfully blends American influences like Woody Guthrie and Levon Helm with European influences from the cabaret and elsewhere. He’ll be accompanied by Chuck Wasserburg on guitar and Jay Whitehouse on bass.
Al Rose and Bucky Halker will lead off with a brief song swap. Al has been a mainstay on the Chicago scene and has eight CDs to his credit, and his albums have received extensive airplay on Americana stations throughout the country. Bucky has 15 albums to his credit, including Wisconsin 2-13-63, a two-CD project of original songs, Anywhere But Utah: Songs of Joe Hill (2015), and The Ghost of Woody Guthrie (2012). He’s received a host of awards for his music and writing, including the Archie Green Fellowship from the Library of Congress – American Folklife Center in 2012.
There’s no cover charge, but, like they say in Nashville, tip hard!
