Date and Time:
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We look forward to a fun night of virtual book club with everyone! This meeting will be hosted online, through the conference call platform Zoom. Pour yourself a glass, settle in to your living room couch, check your internet connection, and enjoy a night of social distancing with friends and a good book.
Every month, the Picnic Book Club will alternate between a non-fiction and a fiction book—for April’s meeting we will read the collection of short stories “The Thing Around Your Neck” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
“In these twelve riveting stories, the award-winning Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie explores the ties that bind men and women, parents and children, Africa and the United States. Searing and profound, suffused with beauty, sorrow, and longing, these stories map, with Adichie’s signature emotional wisdom, the collision of two cultures and the deeply human struggle to reconcile them.”
Picnic’s Book Club is a monthly event where we invite you to get to know your neighbors over a great book. Didn’t get a chance to read this month’s book? Curious if book club is for you? All are welcome to join in the conversation.
