Art opening with the artist, Salim Moore.

Solomon Salim Moore is a visual artist whose work explores where our imaginations and real­ life experiences overlap. He finds inspiration in folktales, ballads, myths, and the little moments of everyday living to make his paintings, prints, and drawings.

Salim was born in Altadena, CA, received his BA in Art History from Reed College in 2011 and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2018. He enjoys hiking in the mountains, cooking with iron skillets, and sometimes he likes to garden. He currently works as a curatorial assistant in the Department of Prints & Drawings at the Art Institute of Chicago.
