We’ve got a full-band night coming to Picnic!

Robert Williams returns with The Chain Links, featuring Chuck Wasserburg on guitar, Jay Whitehouse on bass, and Sarah Allen on percussion.

Robert’s songwriting pulls from American roots traditions and European cabaret, with influences ranging from Woody Guthrie and Levon Helm to the music and atmosphere he absorbed during years spent in Berlin.  His own description lands somewhere around roots, country, folk, blues, rock, and cabaret, which feels about right for a night that should have a little grit and plenty of character.

Opening the evening are Lisa DeRosia and Linda Weseman, two longtime members of Chicago’s country and Americana scene. Lisa fronts Lush Budgett and brings traditional country, country swing, and country rock into the mix; Linda leads the Blue Lorraine Quartet with a sound rooted in Americana and country.

This should be a great one: two veteran Chicago songwriters to start the night, followed by Robert and The Chain Links in full-band mode.
